We’ve always been lucky with the weather when we’ve taken the ferry across Lake Constance (usually on the way to or from Ravensburg, Germany, home of the famous jigsaw puzzle makers).

This past trip about a week ago was no exception: a crisp winter day, I bundled up and got out of the car to enjoy a walk around deck.

A few “seagulls” hung around and watched me watch them. I liked their red legs.
